Storage Compartment Leaks

We have a 1984 25' Sovereign that seems to collect quite a bit of moisture inside the compartment doors on the floor. One of the doors has been hit in the past and doesn't align itself properly but the other looks virtually perfect. However, they both seem to leak during rain storms. Any tips on how I can prevent this from happening? Thanks in advance.

Replace the gaskets, and relocate the door hinges.

Hi, Timmy, I had a similar issue, with my '03 Bambi. I beefed up the weatherstrip on the door, with the addition of some of that stick on weather strip, such as you find at Home Depot. The real cure, I believe, is the other step I took. There is a company which makes a stick on plastic gutter rail. I found mine at Camping World. It comes in black and looks as if it belongs there. The railing can be warmed up in the sun, so it becomes pliable. Follow the directions. It has a sticky back for ease of application. Start at the lower right side of the door, bend the stuff over the top of the door, then down the other side. Voila, no leak. I think you'll be very happy.

We have noticed that the locking bar for the storage compartment in our 2002 Bambi bends rather easily and the result can be poor sealing by the rubber gasket. Since it does bend quite easily, I just bend it back so that I need to push in on the door slightly to lock it. That compresses the gasket and stops any leaks.
