Question:
A while Back I ordered some stuff from Andy, among which, I thought was 2 tubes of vulkem.
I got to looking at the stuff and one tube sez: Silkaflex 1A construction adheasive,
of which, I used most of caulking around windows/seams etc.
The other tube sez, Trempro/vulkem polyurethane sealant.
PLEASE tell me that they are simular!!!!!!!
I would hate to have to scrape the silkaflex out and start over
Thanks Andy,
I like the way the silkaflex applies/works/ sets up,
I haven't opened the tube of Vulkem yet, does it flow as well with simular charistics, other than taking longer to setup?
I tried Parbond and it seemed to shrink/crack when applied over old caulked window seaming.
I didn't like it, so I dug out all old vulkem/parbond and re caulked with silkaflex. I found that if I let the tube in the sun, it flowed much easier.
I am VERY pleased with the results.
Yess I found some "Sillycone" in a few places it was very easy to remove.
so much for it being newer and better. There are places for it, and it does make for a quick emergency, temporary repair.
