Sealants Summary ...
I've been reviewing the forums to determine which sealants to buy for water-sealing maintenance on my new-to-me Airstream. I've come up with the following list of sealants from the posts of others. If anyone has suggestions regarding these sealants, suggestions for better products, or sources for these products, I'd really like to hear them!!
For wheel wells/underbody:
Vulkem 116
Trempro 635
Roof
Silkaflex 721 White
Windows/Trim
Silkaflex 221 Gray
Parbond Gray or Clear
Small seams (between aluminum panels)
Acryl-R

Hi Bob, I've bought stuff from VintageTrailerSupply; and in Canada Fastenal carries some as does a store called Cascade in Edmonton.

I'm adding to the above list of sealants, based on the thread by sailorii which mentioned that Airstream now recommends AdSeal products.
For wheel wells/underbody:
Vulkem 116
Trempro 635
Adseal Premium Quality Sealant Gray (neutral silicone based)
Roof
Silkaflex 721 White
Adseal Premium Quality Sealant White (neutral silicone based)
Windows/Trim/Rubrail
Silkaflex 221 Gray
Parbond Gray or Clear (small hand tubes)
Small seams (between aluminum panels)
Acryl-R (small cans)

Tin, Thanks for the summary of current application and this should be very helpful to folks. Your work here is much appreciated.
This can be a tangle though since some of the caulks that were originally used are simply no longer available. For example I understand that Sikaflex 721UV Gray was used on the windows in the past but is no longer available from Sika but the white is. 721 is a silane terminated polyurethane and evidently has a large dose of UV stabilizer in it (good) for weathering resistance. These hybrid caulks (as 3M calls them) typically cost a bit more. I believe the demise of 721 Gray is what caused the factory to move to the Adseal about three years ago. From my research a couple of years ago, it was evident the Adseal is not a silane terminated polyurethane which makes it different than what is on my trailer.
So when working on my 2010, I try to assure compatibility when doing repairs and that causes a lot of digging for information on my part to be sure that what I put on top is going to be compatible with what is already there.
My perfectionist tendencies probably cause me to overwork this and I will also tell you that caulking is not a pleasurable past time for me and I want to minimize the frequency of rework!

Adseal Premium Quality Sealant Gray (neutral silicone based)
Roof
Silkaflex 721 White
Adseal Premium Quality Sealant White (neutral silicone based)
Windows/Trim/Rubrail

Small seams (between aluminum panels)
Acryl-R (small cans)

Tin,
The Sikaflex 221 that you had for the windows is available.
My point was that the 221 is just not the same as the 721. It is not a silane terminated polyurethane.
Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the list and this will be a great resource. Since we are still in the middle of winter up here I'm wondering what temperatures these can be applied in as well as maybe an ideal application temperature? I have a couple of projects that could use some of these sealants and the daytime high temps here are barely touching freezing. Can I still effectively use any of these or do I need to wait for warmer weather?

I'm far from expert in this chilipepper, but I'd wait until the temperatures are at least 50F. I've checked a couple of tubes of silicone II that I have here, they say 5C before application (about 40F). The acrylics and polyurethanes probably want temperatures higher than 50F to insure that the products are pliable enough for easy (and tidy) application.

This is such a great post! I've printed it and will keep it handy....I keep a supply of Parbond, Silkaflex, Vulkem and Trempro handy. Also a roll of butyl tape that I've used on a couple of occasions. A spray can of the Pewter touch-up paint also comes in handy.

As an owner of a vintage AS (1965), are these sealants also recommended? If not, any recommendations?
