Screws...what size?

Tomorrow is gasket replace and seal day. Know I want to change all the rusted screws with stainless steel. What size screws to get? Sewer pipe vent will be first project. Thought I would go to HD before the sun comes up. Any other known screw sizes for any area would be appreciated. Thanks. Jack

My service manual refers to them as #8 sheet metal screws.

I'd buy a few #6's, lots of #8 and some #10. You will use more 8's but the others are good to have, you will find a place to use them. The 10's are good when a hole has been enlarged and won't hold the #8. Buy the bigger boxes of screws and not the little bags because the price per screw is much less.

Bought several multi-packages of the #8. Question was for the length. #8 and #10 sheet metal screws (multipack) came in 3/4 inch length. The #6 was 1/2 inch. All stainless. Guess when I get up on the roof and remove some of the old I will then know the length needed. Thanks. Jack
