Remove Propane tanks and replace window gaskets

Hello,

I have a '65 Safari.

How do I remove the propane tanks?

Please confirm what the propane tanks were used for? Was it stove, fridge and heat?

How do I replace the window gaskets?

Any adivice on replacing door weather stripping?

(turn gas off) To remove tanks is easy but should be done with extream care as to not crimp the gas lines... Always use two wrenches on each fittings so that the lines do not get rotated and bend! Then undo the large fly nut on top of the rod that runs from the bottom of tanks to the top. I bet this is rusted in place, most are... so penatrating oil is a must.

If your tanks are orginal they are out of date and should be replaced!

The tanks are use to run all, the stove. frig. heat. (this age of trailer all should be serviced by a RV shop)

Window gaskets are again easy to do but extream care should be used as to not break the frame at corners and glass. My bet is because of the age that the glass will break!... The new parts can be found at "Vintage trailer supply"
or a glass shop (but not always).

Door weather strip agian is easy to replace... But make sure door is i great working order... make sure it is not bent or have lose parts inside. I have found that new seals if done wrong will damage the door... so take your time and trim as needed!

If your tanks have old style valves, and old style lines, the nut that holds the tubes to the tanks is LEFT hand thread.

If it has new style valves, and the old lines were used and threaded inside the valves, they are still LEFT hand thread.

If it has new style valves and new style lines, there will be a large nut on the outside of the valve attaching the lines which you can undo by hand, RIGHT hand thread.

I am a novice. How do you turn on the gas or verify the tanks are empty and safe to remove. What do I do with the connection to the trailer?

What do you mean the glass will break? Leaking is occuring so they need to be repaired so I can put in my new floor.
