Original Hehr Window Gasket?

I am wanting to replace the Gasket or Seal on my Original Hehr Windows. VTS is out of stock for this Gasket so I called Inland RV and they stated that they use the "small D" Gasket:
Inland RV Center Inc.

This would be allot easier to install since the Window would not need to be taken off and then re-riveted. I am curious if anyone else has used this Gasket and if they have had good luck with it.
thanks in advance

Many owners have switched to the "D" gasket.

The feedback has been 100 % positive.

while I really appreciate Andy's Post and am most likely headed that way on Monday, I am still looking for some 1st Hand experience!
PS after looking at the Windows and Access Door these Gaskets/Seals really make better sense, really just looking for some other opinions!

When I replaced all the window gaskets on my MH that have HEHR windows, I contacted them direct. It was back in 2008 so I don't know if they are still in business, but at the time they were very helpful in matching up what I needed. HEHR INTERNATIONAL INC. (574) 935-5122 was their phone # at the time I dealt with them.

The small doors also would use these Gaskets! I am headed to Inland, now I do not need to drill out a bunch of good rivets!

I stopped by Inland RV on my way home from work yesterday. I was able to pick up the weatherstripping for my standard Hehr windows and the small doors. Good to see that they are still here and supporting our trailers.

I was waiting on those same gaskets for almost two weeks. FYI, they're back in stock. Nothing like having two windows out with two weeks of rain! (That old hindsight kicks in *real* quick). Anyhoo, I'll be replacing that gasket this week. Let me know how yours works out.

I would suggest that you consider an upgraded gasket.

That original gasket is 57 years old. Back then, it was the best that could be done.

Today, it would be rated near the bottom.

The upgrade used by thousands od Airstream owners at this point is "D" shaped. It is a far better gasket that seals perfectly, when installed correctly.

Airstream has been using it now for a few years.
