Persistent water leaks
Hello
We own a 2019 Flying Cloud 25FB. We have had water leaks from the roof of the trailer. Two dealers have attempted repairs, the last the AS dealership in Seattle. The leaks have recurred with water coming along the seam in the ceiling over the kitchen, previously the leak was on the other side over the lounge. The last repair was replacement of seals around openings. Unfortunately, despite being discussed, a pressure leak test was not done as the dealership thought the seals were to blame.
The trailer is going back to Seattle dealership to try to address this. Are there any suggestion as to what else should be asked of the dealer? Is a 'pressure test" worthwhile? I am hoping to get this all addressed as a trip to the Seattle dealership with the trailer is 6 hours of driving and a $260 ferry ride (one way).
We have been quite disappointed as the amount of remedial work (replacing cabinet doors, reseating the entry door to close properly, fixing a floor flex issue) needed has been more than I would expect. Furthermore, our solar package seems to be problematic although I do not have faith in AS to address that.
Several questions for the forum -
How best to test for leaks at the dealer before we go back for the trailer?
Does the Seattle AS dealership do adequate work or should we be looking to go elsewhere?
Are there any suggestion for solar specialists in the Pacific NW closer than AM Solar?
thanks
joe

Yes to pressure test. Really the only way to find the source where penetration is occurring. Also check your Washington State lemon laws. You have some of the best protection in the country. You may be able to get reimbursement for the travel expenses.

Second above, we had a persistent leak, they have a pressure tester there. Vinnie had been fighting for a long time to get a pressure tester, after three attempts to fix our 2016 they got one, and fixed on the first attempt. The test showed them the Leak was not where they thought it was, water travels.
Thanks
Matti

I wish my dealer had a pressure tester; that is probably the only way to be sure, not just lucky, in finding a roof leak, especially with ducted air and that big cavity up there. Even on the sides, water can travel from the source to the observed leak.

Vinnie can get it done, no question there. However your rig is under warranty. Sounds like you may have to go to Jackson Center if your warranty efforts in the Pacific northwest keep failing.

Call Jackson Center. AC gasket comes to mind on one so new. Could also be a roof sewer vent that does not have a gasket.

Thanks for all the replies ...
New unit so will keep trying with Airstream Dealers ... we went to the Seattle dealer after a poor experience in Langley BC - we are from Vancouver island so any trip to any dealership comes with a $560 ferry ticket round trip ... this makes repeat trips less appealing
Will keep Vinnie's AS repair in mind
Hopefully third time trying to fix will be lucky

Don't forget NEVER use stabilizer jacks to level trailer. This can do a lot of damage to an AS including popping seems open causing repeated leaks, problems with door closing properly and floor flex issues.

Go buy two of these: https://www.homedepot.com/p/4-in-PVC...7HD4/205799563 Place them over your black and grey water vent stacks and I bet your leaks will stop.
I had leaks in my 2017's ceiling until I glued these caps over my sewer vents. On my 2018, I decided to glue these caps over my vent stacks before I had any leaks. Never had another roof leak after adding these caps over the sewer vent stacks. Here is a picture of these caps glued onto my sewer vent stacks on this thread about roof leaks: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f456...ml#post2288568

Constant leaks.
We have a 2019 Serenity 28 ft .
After 2 trips to the factory for leaks in the rear of the unit this year we have yet another leak this time in the curved window .
We purchased the unit lightly used . The flooring is also buckled in front of the shower and the sub floor squeaks in the kitchen. It absolutely is not the cabinets as suggested. It's the subfloor squeaking on the frame .
Jackson has us scheduled for a new floor in 6 months.
Initially we purchased a new 25 foot Signature, exactly 6 months later we traded in for our current unit . We took a huge loss thinking these units work the same as with automobiles. We were given 72k back for a 5 month old 85k unit . We paid full msrp not knowing these units are negotiable. Our fault. We paid an additional 18k for our current unit .
Anyways we are at loss on how to peruse this current issue .
I do know people on the up and up watch over the forums and I believe most of the members will give us suggestions on how to proceed other than posting on the super popular Airstream Addicts Facebook page .
I absolutely love Airstream but I think this has gone too far . I've been researching Lemon Laws as well that may pertain to this unit .

I have the 2015 version of this. My first question is the top fridge door. It has a design manufacture leak. The water runs off the top and gravity pulls it inside the bottom of the door. That is why there are two cut outs for it to over flow.
Much of it comes inside down at the fridge. JC caulked all the way around my fridge on the inside but, very poor design.
Please check if you have a upper fridge door if the lower fridge and floor are getting soaked.
Mine does.
Back to the roof. Mine has leaked since Jackson Center did a roof lay-over becuase of hail dimpling.
If it helps any, this is my 4th return trip in one year. They started guessing at leaks, then the pressure test w/ soap bottles on the roof and 3rd they sent it to the famous water wind tunnel at manufacturing.
My service manager was Artie and then Brad. Brad left the company last month. No replacement yet. He was the Department service manager.
