Lets talk gaskets!

Is the same gasket material used on both the entry door and the screen door? I also used the black weatherstrip adhesive for the door, and man what a difference to work with, compared to the yellow, MUCH better sticking power.

Annette,

If you purchased the correct screen door gasket, it has it's own adhesive (sticky) backing.

Clean off the old screen door gasket and stick on the new stuff. Remember to do the bottom as well.

Never used that black adhesive on the screen door gasket.

Andy

What can I use to replace dried, cracked window gaskets on my 76 International? Is there a place I can order stripping? Can I go to Lowes and buy something equivalent? Is there a recommended adhesive? Thanks for you help! Steve

Rubber Seal – Specially Designed Shapes

Have used Permatex Super Weatherstrip Adhesive (black) over the years to re-attach un-damaged weatherstripping. Just follow the directions carefully.

I had a leaky vista window. I managed to remove both the inner plexiglass window and outer glass window from the inside by first removing the aluminum retainer. I cleaned up the frame & outer window and am ready to reinstall. I need advise on what gasket material I need to use in the reinstallation. The stuff I removed was a heavy gray material. It measured 3/16" thick by 1/4" deep. I would like to reinstall only the outer glass window but will need some type of "backing" material to fill the space left by the plexiglass I removed. Is there a product out there that is recommended for this type of application?

Thanks
