Leak around range hood vent '74 Tradewinds

I have a slow leak around my range hood vent on my '74 Tradewinds. Does anybody here know an easy way to stop this?

Good afternoon! We've got a very slow weekend around here. I would suspect that you have compressed and hardened weather stripping allowing rain to splash and enter at the junction to the body of your Airstream. You'll probably need to scrape this off and apply some new with 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive.

You'll also want to take a look at http://www.airforums.com/forums/f164...nts-24437.html -- that's a common way for water to get in on trailers this old.

I had the same leak on my 75 Trade Wind. I pulled the motor and housing from the outside and sealed under the seam with vulkem. The hardest part for me was getting the cable from the door attaced to the lever on the control panel when I was done.

I just finished refurbishing the stove vent hood on the GT this weekend. I found it interesting that where the vent went through the inner skin was very snug, but, the outer skin had a gap of almost 3/8 of an inch where the cap screen sat under the vent cover. In addition the cover had been cracked where the awning had pushed against it for years.
I figured this was too much for any sealer to fill properly so I cut and fit a thin piece of aluminum sheet from the hardware store to fit tightly around the screen and under the lip of the vent cover.
Probably shoud have taken a few pics to illustrate what I did.

Tom.
