Door leak
I have a leak in the very corner of the door right where the dinette seat touches the wall. If the awning is extended, it doesn't leak. When it does leak, it's right in the corner and then spreads to the lower back of the dinette, not on he carpet by the door entrance (would eventually if you let it leak enough).
We have caulked all the roof vents etc. We have caulked the inside track of the awning. Now we will remove the dinette seat, and using a hose outside try to locate where this leak is coming from.
Anyone ever had something like this?
Thanks! Anne

The problem with spraying water from the outside is that often the water will travel a bit before appearing so the leak source is not where it appears to be. It can be frustrating...
What about pressurizing the trailer and slopping soapy water over the suspected area and looking for bubbles around the exterior? Open a window and tape poly around it with an opening for a leaf blower, reversed shop vac or similar, make sure all other windows, doors and vents are closed and fire up the blower. That might work well to pressurize it.

When one says they have a leak at the door the first thing I think of is the door gasket. How do your rubber door seals look? If they're old, cracked and brittle, that's probably your problem.

I had exactly the same leak indications. we had the trailer pressure tested and found a leak at the forward vent stack, and a bad door seal. The seal looked OK visually, but was still leaking when pressure tested. I would suspect that the door was the leak causing the edge of the dinette to "wick" water.
I hope this helps. the good news is it is a cheap fix.

The bad news is it rained last night, and it still leaks! Back to the drawing board.

My Overlander door's drip cap (or eyebrow) was found to not be sealing well against the skin.
After resealing it with Parrbond, my similar problem stopped.

My 5 yr old International sometimes admits rain at the top of the door and for sure leaks a lot of air. Gasket looks great, door seems not to have the full curvature of the trailer's body.
Do I put a fresh gasket in, somehow build up the gasket fuller, or is there a need and means to bend the door to fit better?

On our '87 32' Excella the door doesn't touch at the bottom 1/3rd. The big question is how to fix this, so that it seals all of the way around. Anybody have any good ideas?

If you door doesn't seal right, then it needs to be carefully bent back to provide that right shape/contour. If you need more information on how to do this, call a trusted Airstream repair shop like JC, Oasis RV or Inland RV.

Mellowmike,
thanks for suggestion -- we'll be awhile before we see the factory, but will keep it in mind.
Leak is very minor and only on direct broadside wind-driven rain. So, not very often.
Thanks again,
Jim
