Cleanup of Acryl-r

Just received a can of acryl-r and the dispensing pump, my question is how does a person clean up the pump after cleanup or do you leave it on the can till the next use. No directions came with it, please help.

Lacquer thinner, denatured alcohol, leave it in can and put wire loop into tip. Put in ziplock bag and store in cool
Dark place

Thanks for the quick reply. My only issue is I received a 16oz can of this stuff, I will most likely be buried with the excess. I would never use this amount in a lifetime, I dont believe.

It thins with xylene. Once dry, it cleans off with lacquer thinner as Channing said. try not to play with it too much when applying.

Yeah you want it thin enough that it will wick into seam but not so loose to drip.

Here is the Data Sheet for it. It says to clean up with Xylene, Tolulene, or MEK. make sure and wear safety glasses and chemically resistant gloves when using any of those.

Be warned about MEK it is very nasty stuff. If possible don't use or be around it .... Too many people I know can trace physical problems to use of it.

But it is good stuff, man...far out !

I wife off the end of the applicator gun with lacquer thinner and stick a small wire in the tip. No problems with storage.
When I caulk the trailer I tape the joint, caulk the seam, dip a finger (use blue nitrile glove) mineral spirits and strike the joint and immediately pull the tape.

Dunno if that is a "new" formula or a different formula... On the Schnee-Morehead/ITW website that number is listed under metal building sealant versus the SM5514 which is listed under Recreational Vehicle sealants. SM5514 is listed as low VOC, which makes me wary. I have not had good luck with low VOC stuff in a lot of applications.
