I'm working on putting things back together again after a shell-off renovation.
What is the best way to remove all the old adhesives and sealants from the aluminum? I'd like to make my own mess rather than just add to someone else's mess.
I don't know exactly what was used on this AS but I do find what looks like clear silicon of the sort often see on aquariums. I also have all of the factory installed sealants to clean up.
OK - assuming we get all the adhesives off the aluminum, what do we use to re-adhere? The carpet has come loose off the aluminum walls in places and the vinyl header trim on the inside of the main door has come loose. Behind it were multiple failed attempts to adhere. Most stuck to the aluminum; none of them stuck to the vinyl. What was supposed to be used? HELP!!!!
Sagging vinyl headliner? If so, re-gluing doesn't work. Some have used an upholstery tucking technique. Use search function and use sagging headliner, or sagging vinyl.
Carpet (mouse fur???) should be able to be re-glued. I'd try some 3M headliner adhesive. Automotive 3M product.

The part I'm having the most problem with is the vinyl trim over the interior side of the main door. It was loose, so I removed it, but after seeing what everyone else tried unsuccessfully, I'd like to know how it's supposed to be done!

Maybe a pic. Don't even know what trailer you have, let alone the piece you're trying to describe.
