Caulks & Sealants

I've spent a great deal of time reading through all the threads here on sealers such as Vulkem 636, Parbond, and Alcoa Gutterseal. I am about to install 3 Fantastic vents on my Tradewind and would like to use Vulkem 636 as a sealer. Airstreamdreams is currently out of stock. I called my local AS dealer and they use something called C-10 Flow Seal. I've not seen it mentioned in any of the threads on this forum. Anyone have any experience with this stuff?

Also, where does everyone but their Vulkem at and what do you pay per tube?

T Man,

I would test the C-10 vertically before I bought more than one tube. It is self-leveling and might run on a vertical seam.

I have had good luck with Sikaflex 221 aluminum gray. It costs about the same as the C-10.

Don,

Thanks for that info. Think I heard that Sikaflex is what Airstream is currently using on visible areas of new trailers. Where do you buy it?

I got one tube from my local Airstream dealer (Sagon), but it was their last one. I paid about $7.00 for it, if I remember correctly.

Sorry, I tried finding the invoice but came up short. I ordered on-line, I think from Austin Hardware.

Found it: http://www.austinhardware.com/produc...&dept%5Fid=452

The grey is $5.47/tube.

They also sell weird stuff, like gaskets and hardware for RV slide-outs.
