Caulking Fan-Tastic vent

The instructions for installing my Fan-Tastic vents say I must use an ASA compatible sealant. ASA is a trade abreviation for the type of styerene that they use. I called Sika and they didn't know if Sikaflex-221 is compatable. They said, "we can't test for everthing". Does anyone know what is?

Call the fantastic fan folks and ask them, they will probably know.

I just took out my original fans and installed new fantastic fans. I scraped off the old sealant used the gasket that came with it, screwed the fan down and then sealed around the outside frame where the gasket meets the housing/roof and the screw heads with tempro or vulcum. It can be found many different places like dealers, rv supply places and the factory. It's good to always have some on hand. I swapped them out in about 30 minutes each.

Oh yeah I forgot I did have to cut the opening larger on mine for the new fan to fit. Electric shears work great or hand shears it still was a pretty easy job.

I called Fan-Tastic Vent and they gave me three products Dicor (SP?), Proseal, and Sikaflex-221.
