Antenna Patch

I noticed today that my rooftop antenna leaks. I'm going to remove it, as it is not connected. While researching patching the hole from the antenna I found this. I'm asking for input on weather this is worth trying as a patch.

I’m a bad example.

We patched ours with a 99 cent aluminum “For Sale” sign and a tube of urethane caulk from the local hardware store. That was 10 years ago.

10 years and it doesn't leak? That sounds like a fix to me.

Hi

The caulk / sealant is way more important than the material. Aluminum of any sort is highly unlikely to spring a leak ....
