another leak

I fixed a leak in the hinge of our 66 Overlander and replaced the door seal. The original seal was a double lip seal but I replaced it with a D shaped seal. The new seal (recommended by Inland RV) works perfectly all around the door except for the area just below the hinge where the door seems to bow out about an 1/8". I can shut a dollar bill in the door here and feel NO tension as I pull it past the seal. I see no way to alter the door or the side wall next to it. I should note that the door fits perfectly against the door frame in all areas except this one. Should I go back to the old style of seal, or find a way to build up the area below the seal until it fits? Not sure which way to go?

Thanks, TomE

I think the easiest way would be to install some 1/8" thick double stick foam under the D gasket to build it up in the area where there is no contact.
