What happened to the Solar/Maxx ?

A few years ago, I bought a MaxxAir 2, known too as a Solar/Maxx 2, and never installed it. As far as I can see it is not sold any more.

Does anybody know if there was a problem with this product ?

Before I decide to instal it, I want to make sure it is worth the trouble.

Any comments from satisfied or disatified customers of this specific item: the Solar MaxxAir ?

Thank you

Allow me to answer my own question with unvaluable help from "AyJay" on the RV.net Forum:

Here is his answer:

"I have a Solar Maxx on my (used) 97 Vacationer. Never did work properly so last fall I contacted them. (Remember I'm the 2nd owner)
They have replaced everything but the housing, seems there was problems with the original solar panels, and the motor drawing too much current to operate on the panel altho it operated fine on battery. Just for good measure they included a new updated control panel...... All this.... for nothing!... and they even paid shipping.
Don't know how a company survives with this policy but they seem to be doing well... Guess what brand I buy next time? "

I hope this can be useful to anybody contemplating the purchase of a related product.

This confirms what we had heard before, that MaxxAir customer support is excellent.
