The time it takes to build a wasp nest...or not...
The other day, I just happened to look up in the bathroom vent and noticed a red tube-like alien substance attached to the push-up arm of the vent cover above the screen. Very strange indeed! I pulled out my extend-a-ladder, climbed up with a phillips screwdriver, and removed the black vent cover to discover...a wasp nest! Thank goodness no wasps were present. It presented a great time to clean out the entire area above the screen and remove our Alien.
One question, which remains unanswered, is how can wasps build so quickly, considering the vent remains open for such short times? During periods of stationary camping in our 2016 International Serenity, we have noticed a persistent keen interest of wasps who travel around our rig seeking, we presume, a home or nest spot.
This goes to show ya. Be aware of openings for critters!
