Solar Vents

Hello Folks
just wondering if anyone using any of these hi-tech solar vents in their plumbing vents and for the fridge?
We know that the white plastic look will not be very nice but we were thinking about a aluminum painting job that will blend the view.
Any input regarding these or other option will help
thanks again

West Marine has nicer looking ones.... We considered it for as an addition to our composting toilet fan but you have to cut a 3 3/4 inch hole in the roof which was excessive for our use. Search under NICRO VENTILATION
Day/Night Plus Solar Vents

Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse... but you take a boat in the air that you don't love... she'll shake you off just as sure as the turn of the worlds.

Really? thanks for the input, we were under the impression that if there is a fan running even a low rpm the airflow should increase.
Based on 2 vets advice w found these:
3" Stainless Steel Minivent 1000 | Marinco
Day/Night Plus Vent | Marinco
a kind of neat aren't they?

Note that is 700 cubic feet of air per Hour.
A Fantastic fan or Maxxfan will move 900 cubic feet of air per Minute.
Totally different.

Hi Al
It seems like there is a misunderstanding.
We are referring to the vents for the plumbing and refrigerator vents and wondering if someone has any experience with them.
No doubt about the fantastic fan or MaxxAir fan outstanding performance and great customer support regarding their warranty.

We had one on the boat and got about 10 years of service from it. You'll need to change the battery a few times. Good quality, but airflow is a bit low. It did make a definite improvement in moisture levels and resulting odors in the boat.

The bottom inlet is much smaller than the cap. If you're creative about it, you might be able to adapt to a smaller hole in the roof and make it look like a vent cap.

So did you have them as "vents" for the plumbing and water tanks?

I can tell you that a small fan in the vent stack does wonders, if you have odor problems. My old SOB had sewer gas issues. I installed a 1" muffin fan, wired to the bath overhead light, and it cured my problem. I 1" muffin fan can't move but a few cubic feet a minute, but it's enough.

The outside of this use to be white. I painted it silver with a spray can. It's not a perfect match but looks better than white... So I think painting the fans wouldn't be that big a deal... Plus they would look a ton better.

Hi, I will have to say that these solar powered vents are interesting, but since I don't have any vent problems, I see no advantage.

Do you remember where did you get yours? we don't have any odor issues but since the vents will need to be replaced on our new project we are looking for upgraded options.
