Silver Bubble Insulation use?

So we have this new Classic parked along the side of the house and have the AC set to 85 seeing we are in SW Florida where it is hot and humid. I notice all the thermal gain coming through the skylights, fan, door and small portal windows. I have covered these areas up with silver bubble insulation and it's much better. The question is am I doing any damage to the fan and somewhat cheap skylights all of which seem to be made of plastic. I am also considering making covers for the rest of the windows on the whole rig. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

We have been using the silver bubble insulation in our Airstreams for ten years now without any ill effects whatsoever. We have pieces cut to fit all of Lucy's windows, her skylight, and her Fantastic Fans. We even use it on the windows for cold weather camping.

You can buy this stuff in a 40" roll at Lowes. One roll is enough to do a 25' Airstream twice.

Brian
