Thread resurection ...

After time up top the other day I wondered about this.

One of my three vents has a hat, the others do not. A recent steady down pour only the one with a hat was no problem.

Not crazy about the original design with rubber that needs to be replaced or a hat to protect it.

After I make a couple more I'll post my version.

When I did mine, I just caulked around the stack coming through the skin with Trempro-635. I did not use a gasket at all. It has not leaked in 3 yrs. I do like the top hat idea. Also there is a product called LEXEL that is better than the Urethanes as far as heat and UV related aging. This stuff stays gummy forever.

5 years in and last week I pulled the cap and checked it... still prefect!
