roof vents

Hello. My dad and I are looking for replacement roof vents. All we need is the top pan that goes in the top of the roof. We have all the other parts that the pan attaches to. We would like to stick with aluminum. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We have a 31 ft Sovereign 1973. The measurements of the top piece are 15 x 15.

Roof Vents

Try Inland RV website. They seem to have a lot of parts and they do ship.

LarryLisa,
Suprised that you dont go with clear plastic, thereby getting some more light in your coach.
IMHO

Those roof vent covers are not available anymore.

You are talking about the aluminum ones with what's left of a double layer plastic transluscent center portion, correct?

A few of us have replaced the failed center portion with aluminum and fastened it in with olympic rivets. I think Inland has a replacement that is entirely made of plastic, I put one on once but really preferred the original style that I repaired and modified as I don't really care for light inside the trailer.

South Jersey RV has the best replacement I've seen. It's plastic, but very heavy duty and fits perfectly. It's also the most reasonable price I've seen for a good replacement - I think it was $30 or $35. You can reach them at 856-697-9600 - ask for Ron.

Tell them I referred you if you call - I just spent a lot of money there.

Color?

Craig, what color plastic? The ones we have now to use as a replacement are grey but translucent. We were looking for more of the aluminum "look". Thank you for your reply and everyone else.

They are white. Definitely not aluminum looking.

It took me a lot of searching, but I found an aluminum cover on this site from a forum member who installed fantastic fans. But I was never able to locate any more to replace my other damaged covers. The one I found was all aluminum, with no plastic center portion.

Good luck.

I have one original aluminum and two plastic roof vents. The aluminum makes noise during the rain, but has never leaked. I am trying to replaced the two other plastic ones that have been caulked so many times, and still leak.

Not always desireable. Last week, we spent a night at the Terraport at AS in Jackson Center. They had a street lamp on till ~11:00 PM that was right over our coach and it would have bathed us in light if we had anything but aluminum covers on the vents.

What came through the curtains was already plenty.

I too have been looking for 1 aluminum vent cover pan. We have 2 aluminum and 1 white plastic when we got our 1979 31' and it really bothers me for some reason... Must be the other 2 polished so nice. If you have an aluminum roof vent cover and live near me, feel free to PM me with your address so I can sneak over and remove yours

Vent cover replacement options

I have a 14 x 14 galvanized steel vent lid that I am considering as a replacement for my current plastic vent cover. I think VTS also has these. Does anyone have experience with rusting or the zinc plating staining the coach after a few years in the weather? I guess its either this or plastic. Too bad somebody doesn't make this out of aluminum.
