roof vent replacements

I am rehabilitating a 69 Overlander which has missing/broken roof vent covers. I need suggestions on vendors for replacement roof vent (covers). One cover is square and incorporates an exhaust fan. Dimensions are approximately 12 by 12 inches; it opens on a hinge with a single crank. The other cover opens with two cranks and lifts the cover straight up (not hinged) the dimensions are approximately 12 by 24 inches.

Both Inland RV Center - The Nations Leading Expert in Airstream Innovations and Vintage Trailer Supply - Vintage travel trailer parts and supplies! have the vents that you need. You can decide which vent you want to purchase.

One more place to look at is here. Out-of-Doors Mart

Common replacement vents are Maxxfan General Overview and FanTastic Vent - Home Page. I have used both with good results.

If you decide to replace the 14x14 vent with either a Fantastic or Maxx-Air, you'll need to remove the old one and slightly modify the location. Here is a link to a brief tutorial:A Fantastic Story

Nice tutorial, my new Fantastic fan and Intellipower are sitting in my shop just waiting to be installed. Sounds like it isn't too bad a job. Now I just need to get my newly installed replacement knee healed so I can get up on the roof.

roof vent cover

I have been having tarps on the roof...the leaks keep coming even after caulking by me and by the shop.....and now i was up there re-adjusting tarps and cracked the sky light
so i need to replace it...hopefully i can just replace the sky light part...depending on what the hinge is...the good news is that i did not fall off and break my neck while stumbling around up there with the flu and a fever....any clues will be appreciated.

Does your motor home have a Fantastic, or other "standard" vent? If it's a Fantastic, you can simply give them a call, and they'll send you a new cover. If it's one of the "cheapie" ones with the small fan in the corner, it would be a good idea to consider replacing the assembly with a Fantastic or Maxx-Air vent while you're doing the work.
