Roof Vent Fan.

On my other Airstream I had a fantastic fan installed and was planning on putting two on my newer trailer....until I realized I'd be replacing my perfectly good steel vent housings with cheaper made plastic vent housings.

I ran across this and ordered one New RV Roof Vent Fan Upgrade Kit Multiple 3 Speed Inward 2 Speed Reverse | eBay ....anyone tried one ?

I would not trade the best customer service you get with a Fantastic Fan for an untried model from eBay. Spend the bucks, plastic is better than metal in a lot of instances and this is one of them.

I would also be cautious of this product.

Look at the warranty.
ELECTRICAL ITEMS: For warranty to be valid you must provide the paperwork and receipt of the certified dealer/repair shop which installed the unit.
Warranty does not cover install by customer or un-certified technician. Please be prepared to provide this information when contacting us regarding a warranty issue. If you aren't aware of how to use this item PLEASE research before purchasing to be sure this is what you need.

When was the last time Fantastic asked you who, when, where and what degree the installer had?
Dave

I'd bet they're both made in China.

My fan came today....simple 30 minute inside installation.

I believe it's as powerful and I'm pretty sure it's quieter than the Fantastic fan I had in my other Airstream....and a heck of allot cheaper and I still have my factory steel roof vents intact.

I will be buying another for my rear vent.

Glad that it worked out well for you. That is a great feature that you can keep your original steel vent cover. Some times you just have to try it yourself to see how well it works.

Like I said I had a Fantastic fan installed by a dealer in my Bambi and it leaked....and for the price and ease of installation I can buy four or five of these for the price of two fantastic fans plus the dealer installation fees.

I might add that the fans don't come with a fuse so I wired in an inline fuse holder and put in a 5 amp fuse.

I have two light/vent combos in my Safari. I'm gonna measure when I get home to see if this will work in mine.

I'm sure it will......Another mod you'll need to make is a hole or shallow slit in the side of the trim piece for the wires to run to the light fixture through.
