Need vent part for '76

Does anybody have parts for old skylights? I need the screw shaft and crank handle that raises and lowers the lid. I cannot think of any other way to make a comparable system that holds the vent open and raises it. My skylight cracked and water got into it and rusted it solid. After soaking it for weeks in penetrating oil, I broke it off trying to get it to budge.

Do you mean skylights or the common "crank open" vents? I'll be taking the original vents off my '76 Caravanner in a month or so and replacing them with Fantastic Fans, so if this is what you mean I'd be happy to save one or more for you.

Unhappy

I need parts for the front vent. I call it a skylight because it has a plexiglass window in it. When you open it a fan starts to exhaust air. The handle that opens it is attached to a steel screw shaft that runs through a metal box. The box raises and lowers the vent through a linkage. I need the handle and screw shaft.

If you can post a picture of what you have I believe I will be able to tell if mine is the same. My front vent at one time had a fan in it which has long-since been removed. And I believe that it had a similar, if not identical, plexiglass "window," but this has been painted over. The handle and its linkage seem to be operable.

There are two images attached here. The first is from my front vent, and shows the mechanism in question, without the handle. This looks like the one in your pictures. The second picture is from my rear vent, and shows the same mechanism more clearly, since there was no fan on that vent. The first image shows some of the remnants of the fan assembly, which was removed before I got the trailer.

If this looks like what you want please PM me and we can make arrangements for you to get the part. I don't need anything for it--just postage. Please understand that I won't be taking it off the trailer until sometime in April.

That's exactly what I need. They are a little tricky to get out. There is a pin that runs through the screw shaft that has to be cut or pulled out and that allows the shaft to be screwed completely out. PLease save one.
What does pm mean?

I'll have three chances to get one for you. As I said, I'll be removing them around mid-April, and will contact you then, via the "pm" or "private message" feature of these forums. When you receive one there will be a notification as you log in to your account (or, if logged in all the time, a notice will pop up as you access your "User CP"). That's the best way to communicate about matters such as this, and we don't have to broadcast our mailing addresses, etc. In fact, I will send you a private message now, and if you respond (as you will be prompted to), then I will know you got it and it will be easy for me to contact you when I have the part. If for some reason I don't hear from you I will assume there is a problem and I'll keep at it!

I need the identical parts -

Hi Youngpeck and Terrencecolp,

I need the same part for a vent in my 75 Sovereign. Also need the T-shaped part that holds the lever - circled in yellow in the photo.

On our third vent the part of the frame where the shaft rides up and down is busted (photo2). That will require a creative solution...lol.

How did the repair work out, if you did it yet?

I've been in touch with InlandRV but no parts. Any suggestions?

Should I post a fresh thread?

thanks,
Christine

I found the part @ Silver Trailer Supply, but haven't ordered yet because of exorbitant shipping fees. My computer also didn't trust the site. Use at your own risk.
