Need parts for 75 Safari original vent

All--

Weather in oregon has been sketchy and raining quite a bit (don't laugh too much ). I was trying to close the front vent (all original) to keep the rain at bay and found out it has stripped threads on the crank mechanism. It looks like someone hit the vent on a branch or something since it also took out the TV antenna gear box and cover. Another thing to fix... the list is getting rather long.

The other two vents are in great shape... and I'm just looking for a new lid and some of the mechanism pieces to fix the busted one.

Anyone know of salvage yards or has other sources to get a original vent? It may be eaisier to just buy the whole used vent than go looking for the pieces.

Ron, you know the purchase price was the down payment, right?
I remember seeing vents for sale in the forums classifieds...sometimes it really is that easy.

Try Andy at Inland Rv, he has alot of parts for the older units. 1-800-877-7311 or Inlandrv@aol.com. My front one had issues also, turned out to be the handle stripped out not the actual screw part.

O'63--

Downpayment? I'm starting to think the purchase price was just the deposit do I could knock the dust off the visa card. LoL

I hit the classifieds but no joy. I'll post a want-ad there as well.

69A'--

I was hoping it was the handle... but I dug into it and it looks like when it got hit that actually taco'd the threads and then the next few up-n-downs completed the damage. You can see the threads (or lack there of) on the rod.

I need to order gasket material from Inland as well... and they are in my timezone.

ronstory , there should be a ton of them around , many have replaced them with fantastic vents . Put a want add in here and be a little patient .Another place to try is RV Doctor George in Sacramento 916-927-7837 .

Ticki2--

Thanks for the advice and I've got my ad posted. Also, I'm flying to SAC tomorrow. It's spooky when a plan comes together.
