Maxxair vent

I have been thinking of replacing the original roof vent at the front of my trailer with a Maxxair remote controlled unit. My current unit has a ceiling light fixture that covers the vent. I want to retain the original light an was wondering if anyone has one of these remote controlled units installed? If so could you do an experiment for me and try using your remote to operate the fan by blocking the line of sight of the remote with a piece of opaque plastic to simulate my light lens.
I want to know if the remote will work through my light lens to open and close the fan.
Thanks,
Al

You might send Maxxfan an e-mail. I think ours is a radio transmiter remote.(it works anywhere in our 31 footer) So it should work fine. I would be more concerend with the air restriction the old fixture would create.

I gave up on the lights in the vent cover and installed single-tube lights on either side of the Fantastic Vent I put in my bedroom. See post 927 here: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f314...-32395-67.html.

I'm very pleased and plan to do the same in the other vents in my Excella.

I'd get a Fantastic Fan. US made and they have a remote control version. Also, with Fantastic you are usually less than 2 phone calls away from the VP or Pres of the company. Great service and warranty support.
