Maxair Fans Not Working

Hello all
Would like help and advice please. I have 2 Maxair extractor fans mounted in the ceiling of my 1998 Airstream in the UK.
After testing the fans I find they are working if I put a 12volt feed directly to the fans.

I have now arrived at the conclusion the there is a break or a fuse blown between the switch and the fans. However I am unable to trace the fault as the wiring leaves the switch and then into the inner skin eventualy making its way the to fans and also making it impossible to access the wiring.

Cannot find any obvious in line fuses that may have blown and now stuck for a solution.
Question, would Airstream have put in an line fuse somewhere between switch and fan, and if so why would it be put in a place thats inaccessable.

Any help appreciated.

regards thripplewood.

You may have a blown fuse in the main panel. Do all the lights work?

there might be a fuse located just before the switch. where are the fans located? are they both in the same place?

Thripplewood,

You can totally remove the MaxxFan from the roof (with the sealed mounting flange remaining in place) by removing the 2 screws on the side of the flange. You can then remove the inner shrouds and get to the wiring, fuses, etc.

Bench test it with a car battery and see what you find!

Hello All

Good advice everyone thanks.
Everything else works, interior lights, step light, fantastic fan works.
Switch is good and tested.
The fans are located in the ceiling and are about three feet apart and run off the same electrical feed.
No visable fuse before the switch as I have traced the wire from switch to where it goes into the inner skin.
will have to try Lewsters suggestion of taking the fans out of the ceiling to access the wiring.

regards Thripplewood
