Leak at roof vent

I have a pretty bad leak at my not so "fantastic fan on my 06 Bambi. There is enough goop on and around it from the factory that I am shocked it would ever leak. Question is, how is the best way to cleanly remove the sealant there from the factory and what would be best to use to reseal the vent fan base? Please [message] me your suggestions as I cannot access this site from work but can get my emails.

Thank you

Hi Nightwind15. We've recently covered this topic. Let's see what member response you get. And I'll look up a recent thread and post it here.

Nightwind, I removed your email from the post because spammers run automated programs that harvest email addresses from every page on the internet. And then you'd find yourself on the receiving end of too many deals too good to be true. I do this to protect our members and this site's reputation.

You can subscribe to threads (User CP on top menu bar, use 'Edit Options' to go to the 'Messaging & Notification' box). Then you will get an email when somebody has posted to your thread. Or else members can click your username to pull down a menu that allows private messaging through the forums -- and you'll also receive an email when that happens. I love these very effective communication tools.

You can browse the Roof Vents, Skylights & Fans subforum - http://www.airforums.com/forums/f455/

These two threads touch on the topic:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f455...ppy-46980.html
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f456...his-47043.html

An '08 Bambi would still have warranty coverage for your problem if you get it back to a dealer, but I doubt they'd do the complete reseating that made Goin Camping so happy in that 1st thread.
