Well, I now have a new motto.

"If it ain't absolutely broke DON'T TOUCH IT!!!!"

I was working on the trailer this weekend and one of my vent operators wasn't working great so I tried to fix it. Long story short, now it's broken and I have to find a new one.

It gave me one of those "why in the world didn't I just leave it alone" moments.

If anyone needs to get rid of an operator for a Hehr vent I know a guy that needs one.

Funny, I almost started a thread last week with the same title. Getting ready for a 1500 mile trip, I was trying to make it easier to light my '61 fridge (it takes two-wife didn't like it). So, I installed one of those gas BBQ push button lighters. It works great, BUT, I broke the capillary feeler tube off of the thermostat. NOW, my fridge is very easy to light, but does not cool! Luckily, another forums member thinks he has one. Had to make the trip with a non working fridge.....so, as we say here in the South "If it ain't broke-don't fix it!!" I know how you feel.

Sorry, I don't have any vent operators. I purchased new ones from InlandRV, mine were missing.

Now he tells me!!

Next he'll tell me if it glows red it's hot.

I'm printing it and hanging it on the door of the trailer.

That is the best flow chart I have ever seen. Been there done that.

It take two wives to light it or wife #2 to light it? Either way, I'd get that fixed in a hurry!

I had a similar one, but with slightly more explicit language at strategic locations. Likewise, it worked for many years before someone tried to remove it to clean the door. Yup, it tore to pieces...

I can't even count all the working items I tried to fix, only to break them. I still haven't learned to leave well enough alone. the realy old, rare parts break easy. Once i realize that the part will never be able to be repaired, I take a hammer to it, it makes me feel better.
