hi- for my '72, which had one metal and 2 cracked plastic lids, I just picked up 3 new "standard" vent lids from an rv store, they were maybe $11 a piece, sort of a milky-opaque white, they let light through nicely. But I had to take the 2 metal mounting arms off of the inner assembly in the coach, rivet and seal them to the new lid, then re-mount the whole thing. A bit of work but certainly cheaper than some alternatives and they fit fine, though without the radiused corners of the aluminum frame on the coach. I then used some 1/2" foam gasket material, self-stick, on the alum. frame to seal them completely when closed. This might work for you too, if you don't mind not being factory original. - tim

Vent repair for 60's trailer.

I used a similar stock vent from a SOB for my rear vent. I glue another piece of clear plastic on the inside of it to reinforce it and give a little insulation and sound dampening. I also have been know to make a flat vent cover out of corregated Lexan sheet stock. Even hail can not break this one.
