Grease my vent...

Almost have front solardome cleaned, replaced rusted screws, mended fan cover, repainted springs and installed a new vent cover. Question: Since it is hard to get to the screw drive with the fan, can I use some grease on the screwdrive and hinges? Looked at different options and am considering axel grease. Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated. Thanks. Jack
