Front vent fan not shut off

Our 1999 Excella front vent turns on when vent is cranked open. When closing it should shut off and usually does.

On occasion it doesn't shut off. After many crank open/close cycles it will shut off no matter how far I crank open or closed it fails sometimes.

Is there a diagram of the vent or idea from the group on what it might be that is causing!

Thanks in advance!

That is an easy one. The switch is circling the drain, and needs to be replaced before it fails completely.

I don't have a diagram, but there is a switch on the hinge side of the vent to turn off the fan when the vent closes. It can get sticky. I had to clean and lube mine yesterday. Fan wouldn't turn on.
That would be the first thing I would check.
It can be accessed by removing the cover from the bottom of the vent. It looks like a pin sticking upward on the hinge side.
