Fantastic vents

Have to replace the dome on my fantatic fan.
Have the new dome but not a clue where to begin and don't want to mess
anything up.
Can anyone help? Please don't suggest the shop.
The nearest shop is 150 miles away.

Replacing the dome

I just did this on my own AS.
Very easy procedure.....

Get yourself safely up to the dome, remove the 3-4 screws on the hinge side of the dome, and remove the old dome.
Clean whatever you can while the dome is off, and you are already there.
Use silicone spray on a clean rag to clean and moisturize the gasket between the dome and the assemply. This will ensure the dome won't stick to the rubber gasket.

Place the new dome on the assy,Line up the lift arm with the channel in the dome, then replace the screws, being careful not to over tighten them.
Easy as pie, like 10 minutes start to finish!

Good luck!

I think I read somewhere that the polycarbonate cover has a lifetime warranty. Did you get a free replacement from FantasticVent?

I have a Fantastic fan in the rear and the "spline"that attaches the motor to the cover hinge/drive mechanism stripped and would not raise the cover (unit is over 20 years old assuming it's original equipment). I removed and called Fantastic Fan to get a replacement spline and they sent a entire new motor & hinge. No charge for the part or shipping. Now that's customer service.
