fantastic vent install

own 2006 safari se/le switching out vent in front bedroom for fantastic vent have removed vent and trying to wire new fan to run without bedroom lights on. I am using power off one of ceiling lights but no power unless I turn switch on to lights in master. Do I need to get power from somewhere else ? and if so where? surely there must be a way to get power without lights on. Any help greatly appreciated. there was no power prewired for a switch out.

Did your old vent have a fan? Not sure about 2006 but does the wiring harness runs down the ceiling curbside of the ceiling vents?

no fan it was just a hand crank vent no wiring harness. plan b wire the vent and remove bulbs, why wouldn't airstream locate 12v power for future upgrades?

When you say above you removed the old vent did you also remove the vent frame that is attached to the roof?

On my 70s and 93 AS the wiring harness was in the ceiling, curbside right next to the vent opening. I'm surprised that nobody else has chimed in. Maybe call Airstream or an Airstream dealer to find the easiest access.

I'm in the middle of the exact same project, except Maxxair Fan. Same trailer it seems too!

How did you fish the wire to the shower fan? There is a rib between the bedroom and the shower, and I'm not sure how to get around that (Through it?) Did you have to remove any interior aluminum panels? Perhaps the wood panel that has the wall switch on it?

Thanks!
