Fantastic Fix Plunger Switch

There is a molded rectangular plastic part on the inside lid of our fantastic fan that is designed to depress the plunger switch and shut off the fan upon the fan lid closing. However, it appears from factory it simply would not do so, and somewhere along the line somebody put a little plastic/rubber nub on there to extend the molded rectangle piece so as to make contact with the plunger and shut off the fan.

Well, that worked for a bit, but the the rubberized nub simply got pushed out of the way over a very short period of time through use.

I've fixed it for now. I tore that clear plastic nub off there. Then, by backing the plunger out far enough to slide in a hand cut/homemade U shaped washer and then tightening it back down, it raised that plunger far enough that it now is pushed down enough to shut off the fan when the lid closes on top of it.
