Fantasic fan size

Looks like these vents are 14" X 14". I did a rough measurement of the opening on my '78 and it is 12" X 12". Everyone says these vents fit existing openings. Am I missing something?

That sounds about right to me, the older units had smaller holes for vents. The opening on your 78 can be enlarged with tin snips. Its scary, but you can do it. I had one installed for me at the Balloon rally last year and ended up doing one myself.

Does anybody know when they went to the larger opening? My 82 looks like a 12"x12" but with the frame it's hard to tell how big the opening actually is.

Thanks, Dan

I forgot to say that the fans come with foam pieces that can be used as templates. The outer and inner skins get cut to different sizes.
