Bathroom Exhaust Fan for 71 Safari

I recently discovered that the bathroom exhaust fan for my 71 Safari was lying on the bathroom closet floor, unmounted and disconnected from power. I couldn't tell where it was originally mounted and where it exhausted to. I can't imagine that it just exhausted into the closet, but I don't see a hole for it to exhaust to.

Does anyone know where it was originally mounted and where it exhausted to?

Pete, I know nothing about your model and year trailer, but in my trailer that is the tubing to distribute the hot air from the furnace to the the various outlets in the trailer, and the fan is atteched to the furnace to carry this out. FWIW.

Yes, I'd like to see a photo, if it's not too much trouble. Although, as you can see from the photo the electrical wires seem to exit the shell right at the floor.

Bertro, thanks for posting the photos! But I have nothing like that either inside or out on my Safari (California built).

Fyrzowt, are you a firefighter and it's like "Fires out"? Does your fan just exhaust into the closet or is it vented outside?

Hi Pete, yes I'm a Firefighter, and that's the way I say Fyrzowt.
The fan intakes air from the bathroom next to the toilet, carries it through the flex hose and dumps it out the bottom below the floor. You can't see the exit in the photo, but it's the metal housing on the far side, opposite the red drain valve handle.

Ok, so half of our closet floor has been replaced with new flooring and I looked at the exterior beneath the trailer to see if there was an exhaust port there. and found what looks like several modifications to the underside.

Does your trailer have an exterior vent for the exhaust or was it just exhausting into the belly pan?

Pete, sorry for the delay, I've been away from the computer.
It appears that it just exhausts into the belly pan.
I have that oval shaped bulb-out under mine too, I haven't investigated it's purpose.

It seems to line up with the bathroom drain pipe. Maybe it's just there to allow more room for the trap? It looks to me like that whole section was cut out and replaced on mine. But if you have it too, maybe it's original.

I'm not too thrilled with the idea of venting warm, moist, pungent air into the belly pan. That seems like bad design to me.

Now I have to decide whether to replace it or not. Do you use yours very often and is it helpful?

You're probably right about the drain pipe trap. Mine has a couple of layers of aluminum that look like a patch, like yours. I think it's original.
I don't use the fan often, it can help - depending on how much work there is to do.

On my '73 GT the fan is also mount to the floor and vents out the bellypan through a steel fitting (which is bad shape and explains why it may have been removed in another trailer).
