anyone tried this vent cover?

These have been on ebay lately. Has anyone tried one? For the price, looks like you could afford to replace it fairly often if need be.

It said it was used in the "condition" description, but new in the title??? Also that there is no hardware included.

I ordered one and got it a week or so ago. it is fiberglass and has no hardware or holes for harware. I think it should be alright. please note, this cover is not clear and some areas will appear dark as the sun shines on this cover. I bought mine because the others i saw were around three times the cost and this one will keep out the weather, something the original stopped doing a long time ago.

if you want a astrodome that keeps out the weather for a reasonable price, then this is the unit for you. if you are looking for a clear or tinted skylight, you need to buy one of the more expensive astrodome covers. good luck, Don

Doesn't let much light in

I took these pictures at the lake this weekend to show how much light gets through the fiberglass. Here is what it looks like from te inside with all of the lights off and the curtains shut.

alternate skylight

Here is a flat alternative to buying a more expensive lid. It cost about $10 of material and took 30 mins. to build. I used Lexan corregated sheet stock 1/4 inch thick that has round lumens that run parallel to the trailer. The edging is made from one inch angle aluminum (you can use stock material from siding) clip bend the corners and pop rivet. The Lexan sheet is also held in with pop rivets. You need to use sealent as well as foam gasket for sealing to the opening to make sure it is waterproof. It certainly does not look stock but it is more durable and lets in the light. You could also use smoke Lexan, if you wanted a little less light.
