'61 tradewind leaking skylight

The skylight on our 1961 tradewind must have been leaking, since the previous owner removed the original cover, boxed around the aluminum base with pine, then glued glass down on top of the pine box. Its still leaking!
We"re looking for advice on the best repair for the least effort. We're wondering whether or not to buy something new and where to get it, or to work with what's there and search for replacement parts, or... Would greatly appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Resaeling the base of the metal extrusions that are attached to the shell, is a good beginning.

Use Vulkem sealer Remove any old sealer that may still be there.

There are 2 sizes, 14 x 14 (solardome) and 14 x 26 (astrodome).

Their intent is to let some daylight into the trailer.

Replacements are available.

Thanks, that's really helpful! Ours must be the Astrodome (although the hole is more like 14x25). Any suggestions on what sealant to use to install it? Or would that info come with the astrodome purchased?
