1985 Excella Fantastic Fan?

I went back 3 years and did not see a complete answer.
Our front vent is out and from all the reading here it looks like a Fantastic Fan would be a great replacement.
Besides I am really sick of wasps getting in the current vent and building nests.
So if I do this won't I miss the light, we use it a lot?

So after talking to Bob at Fantastic I want to put a couple in more than ever. But I really do not want to lose my light when you walk in. Any help would be awesome.

I'm not sure if I'm following you. The FF has a translucent top, letting in the light. Plus, the fan blade is clear... I don't have one, but I really want to buy one soon for the ARgosy. Try Vintagetrailersupply for purchase... I think you'll find what you need.

You want the translucent option. Call Steve (@VTS) and ask him if you need the curved garnish for the new trailer or not...

I had a 98 Excella with the light vent unit. When the unit died, I repalced with a FF and the repair shop added a light fixture same as the others in the As. This arrangement worked better than the fan/light combo.

Sorry, I was talking about at night coming in and turning on the light in the AS at the door with the switch.
Airtandem can you tell me what light fixture you used. Al 3 of our overheads are fan/light combos.

OK, let me try to answer again. I had to reboot my router to get my Internet connection back.

I installed one of the Fantastic Vents with the opaque gray lids that VTS sells in my Excella's bedroom. I used single-tube fluorescent lights on either side. There are photos in post 927 in Terry's "The fulltiming adventure begins" thread. There is more about the lights in post 923 if you are interested.

There was more in my original reply, but it got lost when the router went on vacation.

There are other threads on the topic that you can locate with the search function, too. There is also a before photo at Vent Options with the original light and vent cover. I agree, I would miss the light in the ceiling.

first of all, the existing opening for the fan was too small. Than installed the Thin lite recessed model; the other 4 lights were this model. The light installed was than wired to the switch by the door as before. The fan was the older model, as now there is a remote for the fan.

As another note, the 98 excella we had I got at A&L RV by Murfreesburo. Tn is a nice area and we enjoy our visits
