1977 Argosy Bathroom Vent Fan

The bathroom vent fan in my Argosy is falling to pieces. The diameter of the vent is about 4 inches. Does anybody know where I can get a direct replacement. Actually the only part that will need replacing is the fan itself. The motor still works. Alternatively a nice replacement would be the this Ventline fan. http://www.etrailer.com/RV-Vents-and.../VP-543SP.html but it is 6 inches in diameter. Any advice.

If you just need the fan blade you could try fitting a computer fan blade on the motor shaft. Otherwise I think most people end up swapping it with a ventline.

Getting back to the bathroom fan, I am going to replace it with a ventline. There is a heavy metal ring between the skins that the old fan motor mounted to. How is this mounted. I need to remove it to open up the hole to fit the ventline.

To get this ring out involved cutting an 8 inch hole in the roof outside which I had to subsequently patch with a 12 x 12 plate with a 6 inch hole in the centre to accept the ventline fan. Lot of work but worth the results.
