Thanks for the tips Andy. Today I put silicone in the Caravel's window hinges and opened and closed them regularly for a couple hours. I also made my hubby climb on top of the trailer and reseal the vent. He also found a seam we had missed last time, and sealed that with parbond.

Then we called your shop to order some bits n' pieces for Bambi and also a new set of vent gaskets and screens for Caravel (working on getting some used metal vent caps for it). The lady on the phone quizzed me about if it was for metal or plastic caps, so the word must have gotten down to them I'll have the Caravel leak-free in no time.

Thumbs up Andy...NO HARD FEELINGS!!

Andy,

First off I want to say that I wasn't being upset with your staff! Just that I would have ordered the vents at the time I ordered the gaskets, had I known. None of us are perfect. I don't expect any of you to be, either!! If you check with your sales department...I spent a bundle! I just was a bit bummed I didn't order EVERYTHING I needed.

I have quite the project going on, trust me! Lots of things have not been done to my "Roadrunner" and I want to get him in top shape. You've always been helpful on this forum. PLEASE...don't take my comments as being too critical. We all learn from our mistakes. ME included!

Keep up the fine work you do on this forum, with your suggestions!!!

I too, will have to try the silicone trick!!! I have a 68 Overlander...and trust me...nothing has been maintained in 10 years!! Thanks again for all your help on this forum. PLEASE....NO HARD FEELINGS!

Becky

Stacked windows

I'm still getting upto speed on my terminology. I have a 1966 Safari. Are stacked windows the fixed windows underneath the extendable windows in the dinette area? And if that is what they are, is it obvious where to put the parabond? I just caulked the outside tops of the window frames with Vulkem last night, and want to get them nice and sealed, since the windows have been leaking in the rain.

I will replace the gasket after we get back this weekend.

And...are the operators for the clips that hold windows shut available? One our posts is stripped and it must be opened with a phillips screwdriver.

I have questions about vent covers, but maybe I should start a thread in Exterior renovation.

It depends which parts you may need for the window latch.

We have the clips, made with Stainless Steel, the barrel nuts and the crank handles.

Usually you can rob a latch from the front or rear window and use it where needed.

Should you do that, then move the outer two front or rear window latches closer together.
