I know I am not the only one with this problem but I cannot find out how to repair the side windows in my 1976 31 ft Sov. The easy way is to replace them but I never do anything that way. I would like to find the thread of anyone that has removed the windows, taken apart the glass and put everything back together.

There are a couple of old threads on the process. If you have double pane the easy way is to break out the inner pane. They can be taken apart, but it's a lot of work. One problem you will probably have if you take them apart is the old gasket may not be reusable and there are no replacement gaskets available.

I have had great success in rebuilding all my old double pane windows and converting them to single pane ( what Airstream now sells for $450.00 per sash). I use all new "U" gaskets, new bucked rivets, and when I'm finished they look like new..!!

Ta Da! It's a little long--start at post 46 and pay attention to 57 and later. But the whole story is in this thread. Your big problem wll be finding the right thickness of butyl to go between the glass panes.

Lumatic is only half right--the right gaskets and butyl are available, but you have to buy it in bulk. No one has been able to find it in small quantities. I never could get 5 other members to team up to get case lots.
