window install question

Just trying to get er water tight. Window glass was out of this stationary window. I found the piece of corning glass, but it appears there are small trim pieces missing on the left and right of the window. Screw holes or rivet holes on the window frame as well. Best I can figure it sits on the exterior of the glass about a half inch, then attaches to the window frame inside. Is the glass only held in with some type of adhesive (vulkem?) or is there supposed to be some type of mechanical retaining bar or trim piece. Are these side pieces easy to come by? If not I guess I can make something close out of some aluminum L stock. Thanks for the help.

The brackets are a simple right angle small piece of aluminum. There is one on each side.

You can use Vulkem to seal it.

Vulkem can hold most anything, after it's set.

Thanks Andy, just double checking. Just cut some stock down that I had and vulkem'd everything in place. Holding it in with some spring clamps until things set up.

That particular window in my 66 Safari also has a rubber gasket around the sides on the interior of the coach....don't know if it's original or not. Thought that information may help you out. The gasket is pushed up between the window and the aluminum...you can't really see it.
