Window Gaskets

Does anybody know where to get the gaskets that go between the window and the outside frames that have the rivets in them ? I have a 77 Excella and the gaskets around the vista view windows still seem tight , but they may be leaking.
The wing windows the gaskets are pulling away from the corners on the outside.

I actually have no idea except to look at vintagetrailersupply.com. But your best bet is to use the search for window gasket or look under the restoration topic for window etc.

I had the same problem on the ones on the wing windows of my Safari. I think it is probably the same type seal that is on your vistas as neither of these windows open. So far have not found replacements.

I taped off around the edges of them and used Vulcum to seal the areas that I felt were leaking. I now have my front interior skins removed and have been able to see the evidence of where the leaks were. The recent rains gave me a good chance to see that all the leaks have stopped.

If you come up with anything let us know. I would really like to replace all of mine on both sides.

Hi,

Are you talking about the grey seal that you can see in this picture - right at the edge of the frame and glass..... If so I don't believe that's available any longer.

Just my opinion from working on windows most of last summer on our 71 - the more likely cause of a leak will be the gaskets on opening windows - and on all the windows - the dried out bead of sealant on the top edge of the frames.

Gary, not to highjack, but could you share with me how you got such crisp results painting the indented letters in that picture? Also is the silver part silver paint or alum. thanks

With apologies to Robin for stepping on the thread.

I taped off the sections of the badge around the lettering as close as possible. Used I believe 5 light coats of spray paint.

Between the coats - wiped the face of the plate off with a smooth cloth (no nap to drop down in your lettering) that was lightly soaked in paint thinner.

The middle part (Land Yacht) was the toughest because your just wiping the paint off the top face of the letters between coats. On those I wrapped the cloth around small piece of wood.

Here it is with the middle done. The badge is the original aluminum - no paint.
