Window frame removal without removing eyebrow????

HELP!

We are newbies... and have a lovely project - 1961 Overlander. We need to remove the windows for repairs.

We have located the screw at the top of the frame that keeps the frame from sliding but it looks like sliding the window to the left or right will run into the eyebrow. The eyebrow is in EXCELLENT shape and we would like to preserve it.

If it is a window like our Argosy just lifting it way up above 90 deg it will drop out of the upper track,of course requires disconnecting the lift rods.

We did get one window frame off, but had to bend the eyebrow to get it off. Hope we did that right?!

We removed the eyebrow end screw, and the screw from the center of the window frame (that keeps it from sliding).

Then we slide the frame to the left until it hit the eyebrow. At that point we needed 1/2 inch of clearance. After twisting the eyebrow up we were able to remove the frame.

When we re-install the window we will draw the eyebrow back down with the end screws.

That's why there is a screw in the end of the eyebrow. To make it possible to remove the window. You did it right.

There is a world of different in the windows from 65 and older, 66 to 68, and then from 1969 until now.

I hope that means that the pre 1965 are easier? Or less complicated?
That was our hope in going "vintage"

1969 and up window frames are riveted to the shell because they are mounted from the outside, and riveted from the outside..

1968 and older trailers had the windows mounted from the inside and riveted from the outside.

Because of that method of mounting, 1968 and older windows are much more difficult to remove than 1969 on up.

Sorry, that's not what you wanted to hear, but that's the way the riveting took place.
