Will she ever forgive me?

I am going to beg for some help here. I had a little accident this weekend. It all happened very quickly and I just cannot go over how it took place one more time. I caused it and I will make it right one way or another.

I need some new windows or the mechanical parts, at the very least, for these two jalousie windows. This is a 1962 Overlander. The windows are 23 3/4" wide x 19 1/2" tall each. These are standard in 1959- 1963.

My hope is someone has these windows sitting around or they have a trailer that is a wreck and would want to sell the parts. I am willing to pay top dollar if needed, but hope there is a good samaritan out there.

Rodney, I purposefully never said good bye. I did that so we could continue the visit later on. The door is always open here in Baltimore.

Frank:

Overlander64 sent me this link 013-157 Jalousie Glass Holders - Pair

It has the parts you need but they were discontinued by the company that made them. If you can find out who the company is then maybe you can call the manufacturer and see who their dealers were. You might be able to run them down. They were also used in older mobile homes through the 70's.

That's a shame, Frank, but you know that she'll forgive you. I'm pretty sure in her 50 year life that she's had worse happen.

I am very familiar with both VTS and Blaine (visited in person two weeks ago). This issue is not just operators, the entire frames are twisted. What you see in those photos was after I tried to straighten it out a little.
I feel I need an entire window in this situation. I have two weeks to fix this before a very busy rally schedule kicks in....

Frank, when you have some time to let go of this it'll be easier to think about fixing it. Right now you are too upset to think clearly.

It is just metal work and glass. Glass is easy to find and cut to the right size and smooth off the edges. The metal can be fixed or fabricated and you do that for a living, or know the guys who do it for you. You may be able to do it yourself. Or you will find the part pretty quickly—those kind of windows were everywhere years ago before you were born.

Someday I will tell you about my truck's rear bumper and the retaining wall in front of my house. The retaining wall won.

So sorry about the boo-boo, but stuff happens, it just does.

She'll forgive you---cause you love her and she knows it. Just fix her up and she'll be good as new, ready to go again.

Frank when I go get the 63 o'lander in the morning if it has the right size windows they're yours. I hope to back with it before noon and will call you to let you know. Will a non jalousie work for you if it's the right size?

RV Doctor George?

There's a shop in Sacramento CA area that is very large warehouse of used and recycled parts.. Not just Airstreams, but some.... Worst case you can ask him to be on lookout for your windows... Business name is "RV Doctor George.."

Look at: Parts Page

Sorry to hear story, but litle sympathy for the tree...
