What type of glass ? Overlander 1960

Hi everybody,

On my Airstream, I have this :

But the bottom window is empty, I think it the same than the top window... like this :

Can you confirm ?

If it's this system... I haven't it for the bottom window... do you think it's possible to find a complete system ?

Thank you very much.

Hi GaŽl,

I've never seen a mix of a solid and slatted window together. I'm sure your windows were identical, top and bottom.

The windows are known as Jalousie windows, and parts are available. It's hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like you have the frame in place and need the Side Strips. If you follow that link, you'll see other parts for these windows.

The glass is standard plate glass (you could use Safety Glass). I don't know the thickness, but it should be easily available in France.

Interesting... If you look at some of the first pictures of my 1959 Overlander, you won't see Jalousie windows. I have the regular ones.

Hope you are enjoying the Tour.

Hi John !

Thank you for your reply,

You're right because the bottom frame is the same than the top but the system was removed for sure...

Pics of the top :

And of the bottom :

I've seen the link and it's exactly these part I'm looking for, I have to do a good order again to Steve from VTS,

I'll replace all my windows by pleaxiglass (Lexan) in 3mm of thickness and for the jalousie windows, I'll keep glasses, it have 5 glasses for the top jalousie system and 5 for the bottom and at the moment, I have 4 glasses on th top.
I'll remove one piece in order to make 10 new glasses by a glass specialist.

Yes, I've seen you have regular glasses on your Overlander when you bought it

Thank you again John,
