Vista View Windows

I have a 1977 Excella 500 that needs new vista view windows - the old ones are so bad you can't see through them! Does anyone know if they are still available, or what a substitute product might be if they aren't?

Thanks

David

David.

Vista view windows are still available, but in single pane only.

Maybe fixable

You may be able to restore your windows if they are double pane. Sometims the reason they are "opaqued" is due to the film between the panes has deteriorated. Some folks have actually removed the inner pane and cleaned the window. You will be left with a single pane window since the inner pane may have to be "shattered" to accomplish your goal.

Search Vista Windows on this forum using the search feature above.

Oh, by the way, welcome to the forum.

Thanks

Thanks for your help - I'll try breaking out the inner pane based on the other threads dealing with this subject. Any particular advice?

Maybe '77's are different than '73's, but I didn't have to "break" anything to get mine apart......Let me go look at Balrgn's link......Yea, that looks like mine.

OMG Don't Break anything!

The retaining ring slips out pretty easy, it is an effort to get it back in place though

Jim,
The 77's ARE different from the 73's...starting in late 74 or early 75 they switched over to an all glass "sealed" unit, prior to the switchover the inside pane was plexi held in place with a snap ring. There are only two ways to clean the later ones....break the inner pane or replace the entire unit with a single pane. I have done both on my unit...
